Swastikas of Happiness!

I was at a friend's Ismalli wedding last night. The aunts of the bride place these symbols below the seats of the bride and groom. They are meant to symbolize togetherness and keep negative energy away from them.
One relative told me about the importance of explaning this to Jewish guests as he had seen things get ugly in the past. It's terrible to say but I'd love to see that. Someone invites you to their wedding only to include a public statement of their hatred for you within their wedding celebration. Awesome!

Another one of the rituals is for the uncles to place pineapples in each corner of the room before things begin... again to keep negative energy away.... MMmmmmm pineapple.
