East of the downtown east side there is an industrial area. It's beautiful and old... and horribly ugly...

Main St.

Dead and Gone

Just off Main St. these images were all taken of a crumbling row of warehouses right in the path the advancing condo towers of downtown Vancouver. Their days are numbered. In The background... down the row... the sound of men hauling and cursing household junk unworthy of the salvation army drop box. They stack it 25 ft. to the ceiling. In the foreground wind, pigeon wings and refuse rolling by like tumbleweeds.

Rust and Magnolias

"The sun has gone and scorched the other side of the earth and come back to us"

Spring has arrived in Vancouver.

The images of the rusty metal are disappointing at a small size... they look much better larger. I suppose it's the detail and texture that grabs me. Shrink them down and lose the detail... and there's only some orange and blue shapes left.

There is something about it that grabs me. I suppose it's just another kind of "What's it?".
